Middle School
Our middle school, comprised of approximately fifty 7th and 8th graders, offers a caring, friendly environment and a sound academic program.
- Helping our students develop a Godly character, as well as understanding God’s character, is a mainstay of the Grace Christian School education. This is accomplished, in part, through in-depth study of the Old and New Testament throughout the elementary, middle, and high school years.
- Our academic program places an emphasis on writing, grammar, mathematics, history, science and critical thinking. As a result, GCS Middle School Stanford Achievement Test scores average in the 80th-90th percentile.
- The GCS technology program, designed in concert with the University of Richmond and Boston University provides practical computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheets, desktop publishing, multimedia, and databases. Computer skills are then incorporated into the classroom curriculum.
- Students study a variety of topics through mini-elective courses such as survival skills, leadership, home economics, and keyboarding, as well as fine art opportunities which include, art, chorus, drama, instrumental ensembles, and small group worship teams.
- Private lessons are offered for voice, guitar, piano and violin, as well as wind, brass, cello and bass instruments.
- Middle school students have their own interactive weekly chapel services, incorporating Biblical world view teaching, special speakers, worship, and drama.
- In addition to physical education classes, students have the opportunity to participate in the middle school and junior varsity sports program.
