Tuition and Fees
It
is a priority of Grace Christian School to carefully manage
finances in a manner that will keep the Christian school option
affordable for families. The
financial contributions of many help make this possible, from the
school staff who are willing to serve for lower compensation than
they might receive in the public workplace, to our long-term
relationship with Community Fellowship Church, which has
maintained a major financial commitment over the years to the
school. The on-going
ministry of the school is truly a testimony to God’s faithful
provision and the sacrificial commitment of many local Christians
in the community.
The
commitment of so many enables the school to maintain a lower
tuition rate than many schools with comparable programs.
In this context, the following tuition schedule reflects
the per student cost to operate the school based on projections
for the 2011/12 school year. We
also offer two alternative options for school families to assist
with the cost of tuition, including Tuition Work Credit and
Financial Aid, which are detailed below.
Tuition Work Credit
Our governing board believes those parents who are able to pay full tuition rates should do so whenever possible, in that these rates reflect the truer cost of each child’s education. However, a limited number of families who may need assistance with their tuition may participate in our Tuition Work Credit program (TWC). This program allows parents the option of paying a combination of tuition and service time to the school by performing cleaning and maintenance jobs. There are a limited number of TWC positions available each year. Families may apply for these positions by contacting the business office for a TWC application form. TWC duties are performed on a weekly basis from September through August. TWC is considered taxable income and is reported at the end of each calendar year on IRS Form 1099.
Financial Aid
Limited financial aid is available for qualifying families. The school will do everything possible to assist parents who wish to enroll their children at Grace, but who are unable to pay the full tuition amount. Families who feel they are in need of financial aid must complete a financial aid application form. In addition, they will be expected to participate in the Tuition Work Credit program.
