Tizzy von Trapp Walker (center in red sweater) visits with GCS cast and crew

Congratulations to the GCS cast, crew and production staff for their outstanding rendition this past weekend of Rodger's and Hammerstein's The Sound of Music!  Playing before a full house in each of three separate performances,  the students and our staff excelled in bringing Broadway to Staunton!  God has richly blessed these young people with outstanding talent, and they utilized those gifts "as unto the Lord" (coram Deo) in a way that richly blessed those of us who were privileged to attend. Thank you all, students and staff, for your dedication and hard work in making this one of our best productions ever! Encore!!!

Becky Boyette, our gifted director, sent the following email over the weekend sharing news of a surprise visit to one of the performances by a quite special guest:

I wanted to share Kati Grow's photo (above) of our very special guest at Saturday night's performance. A GCS grandparent is a friend of Tizzy von Trapp Walker. When Ms. Walker heard we were performing the Sound of Music, she came to see the show! She had beautiful things to say about the school and the students. Ms. Walker is the daughter of the eldest von Trapp son. The students were beyond thrilled. She specifically complimented their exceptional singing voices and Burt and Danielle's lovely, authentic rendition of the Laendler.

Thank you, Lord, for your blessing on this wonderful production and for orchestrating this very special visit from one of the von Trapp descendants!
