Press Release
November 16, 2022

In the summer of 2022, Grace Christian School purchased the historic Central Augusta High, a segregated African-American school in Augusta County that closed 56 years ago to become Beverley Manor Elementary School. GCS is bringing new life and beauty back to classrooms, hallways, and a full-size gym, as they move their 321 students, Preschool-12th grade, onto the beautiful property. With 72,000 square feet and 20 acres, located just off the 262 Staunton bypass, GCS is excited for this opportunity to open its doors to partner with more parents, grandparents, guardians, churches, and businesses by providing the next generation with an excellent education taught through a biblical worldview. The move-in date is dependent on the sale of current historic buildings in downtown Staunton and the school’s first-ever capital campaign.
